A very easy way to ease in to learning more about yourself is to dive in to your astrologic sign and take the many personality tests available. Answer the questions as honest as possible and find out your “type". I ask you not to back yourself in to a box of a certain number or letter sequence but use them as a guide to learn more about how you tick overall. Take notes along the way and notice similarities and differences that come up repeatedly.
Astrologic Sign:
- Many may be aware of what their sign is and what it means already. Do you feel you match your sign? Are personality traits similar? Different? What is something you love that you relate to with your sign? Something you would prefer to change? You can find your sign and learn more by doing an internet search..
Chinese Astrology
- Chinese astrology takes things one step further than just the date you were born by also looking at the year you were born. Each year is assigned an animal in a 12 month rotation. Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Pig, then the sequence starts over. Look at the year you were born, what animal you are and what traits are generally associated with that year. Chinese astrology also addresses your earth element (earth, wind, wood, fire and water) as well as your ying/yang sign. Both of which narrow down likely traits even further. The Chinese New Year takes place in February every year. the new year is celebrated as well as the new animal of the year. Each year astrology predictions are made for each animal type. Its interesting to see how these can align with where you are in life or where you're going.
Meyers-Briggs testing
- Meyers-Briggs is a questionnaire based test that assesses ones psychological preference in how they perceive the world. The test was originally created with the thought that each person has a preference for one or the other of four categories. The test categories are: introversion or extraversion, sensing or intuition, thinking or feeling, and judging or perceiving. Once completed you get your letter sequence such as ESTJ or INTP. Learning what each category means to you means another step closer to understanding yourself at a deeper level.
